Its Father's Day and they offer nothing for it. Very expensive for what you get. Also we had a kid that was not hungry. Man do they treat you like a criminal on an airport when you tell them someone is not eating. Won't be back to this place b

Good selection of foods, would be 5 stars but the pot roast was pretty bland and the bourbon chicken while tasty was greasy as all get out. I love the carrot cake, the dessert selections are really good. Nice girl taking care of us, the girl who rang us up was super nice too.

So if you have never been to Golden Corral it is served via buffet. I have never been to this location till today. It was actually one of the cleaner locations I have been too. They were busy which I was actually happy about as a rule of thumb when it comes to buffet is that the parking lot has to be full, otherwise the food isn't changed out frequently enough. From when I first walked in the staff was super friendly. They were busy but still answered my questions and got out drinks quickly. Even though they were busy they took the time to split our bill onto 2 separate cards. I had a toddler with me and one of the staff members could tell that I looked troubled trying to find a table where I could put a high chair and be out of the way. She quickly came to the rescue and guided me to one of the side rooms which there was no one sitting in, it was quite and definitely a plus as my kid at eat outs can sometimes be disruptive. She really made my day by helping us out. That being said, the staff is very attentive to whats going on and to the restaurants patrons. They have a large variety of food options from comfort foods like what you would have at a typical Thanksgiving like Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy etc... to burgers, pizza, tacos etc.. Salads, and most yummy many options for desserts. I can't speak for other times but during my trip all the food look fresh and was hot. They were consistently wiping the serving area, filling plates and utensils, stocking and changing out the buffet bins. They have a grill area that they make different foods on different days, today they were grilling burgers, and by the salad area making grilled cheese sandwiches. The salad bar was fully stocked and chilled with several options of salad dressings and toppings. Even have cocktail shrimp as a topping. The deserts were again fresh and being changed out frequently. They had many choices from apple pies, to cobblers, brownies, fruits, cakes, cookies, even a chocolate fountain to dip strawberries or marshmallows in.... then of course ice cream. Our table staff kept our table cleared from used dishes and kept us well stocked on drink refills and checked on us frequently. I know some Golden Corrals have a bad rep, and I haven't been to one in a while. I came here so that I can have many options to choose from to offer my picky toddler, didn't have high expectations and was just looking for a cheap but hardy lunch. Well, this location exceeded my expectations from past experiences and will definitely try them out again.

Golden Coral is what it is. Grazing. This location is the one we visit and I guess we have been lucky. Dishes have been tasty, hot and buffet fresh. As I stated in my tip, GC has some of the best fried chicken around. That is usually how we end up here is my craving for it! Their banana pudding is tasty too but man does that "chocolate wonderfall" scare me! No telling what has been flying around and into it. And it's creepy how it bubbles... Staff are friendly and efficient. :)

On August 21,2015 @ 12:: pm, I drove 20 minutes from downtown Orlando on my one hour lunch break to come this place. I only come here specifically for my burger n fries fix..everything else is too salty for me or tastes canned.... And I like salt just so everyone knows... So for me to say it's salty, takes a lot.. Make the long crappy story short.. The sliders weren't ready... When they finally were.. I went to get fries.. No fries that day.. Asked a cook behind the line, he replied " we ain't gots those anymore".. Whatever. I sat down with my sliders.. Needed mayo n mustard.. No packets on the buffet line like usual. I asked a server ( who clearly wasn't in my "section") for some.... She replied, hesitantly "I'll get you some from the kitchen". I waited 10 minutes patiently. Sorry.. Can't eat it without those two condiments.. Laugh if you will but it's the truth. I finally asked her again.. She apologized that she forgot, got another server to get it... By the time I got it... Sliders are cold... Still starving I ate a bite.. They were tasteless, no seasoning and hockey pucks... I left it all on my plate to show I didn't eat any. I went to ask the manager for my money back... He was rude and asked me to " rat" on the dude that said "we ain't got fries". I had to fill out a a page of info to get my $9.00 n some lousy change back... When the manager looked it over, he refused to give me my money back cuz I didn't fill out the phone # or email part. I told him that was my personal information and was not obliged to give that out.. Finally , with an attitude n smirk... He gave me my refund and I walked out... Remembering I left my Big Gulp from 7-Eleven on my table, I walked back in to get it... Also , noticing I had one oatmeal cookie still on my plate ( I got that while I was waiting the 10 minutes for the sliders to be done) , I grabbed it. The sorry ass manager stopped me on my way out and said " that cookie isn't free" and snatched it outta my hand.. .. I know... Right??? Lol... I wanted to say " neither was the gas or time I drove here n leaving hungry"!!! Instead.. I took the high road n left.. Worst managerial skills or lack of, I should say.. That place smells and I will NEVER return !!!! Pretty sad too because we go there with my church one a month. .. We will find a new buffet establishment.

We visited this restaurant as part of a mini vacation that ended up to be not the vacation we anticipated. We were not able to enjoy the food due to an incident we experienced with my father in law having dementia, however, the Manager, Mr. Richard Karowski was very professional and one of most kind persons we have met in a long time, He took care of my father in law issues and went far and beyond his responsibilities as a manager to make sure my husband and I felt at ease. Thank you Richard for your time and effort, we will not forget it.

The manager jim was very professional and kind. He fixed our problem and concerns and treated us to lunch the following day. This visit was much much better, cleaner and fresher food. I enjoyed the fresh baked turkey and fresh veggies. I say its a good clean buffet most the time, later at night it can get iffy and the staff slacks off on just about everything. But go for lunch or early dinner and its great, like a totally different place! I will probably not return for a long time only because I have to steer clear of buffets haha

Cold tasteless food like stuff. Awesome variety of humanity. I should start a "People of Golden Coral" website. Staff is nice and attentive though. Good luck.

So, like many, I went into Golden Corral with an empty stomach, and tempered expectations (it is a generic buffet after all). It was a somewhat late dinner at 7:30, but not too off the normal times. It was nice to see the updated interior here, and the place was relatively clean for being right after the dinner rush. As for the food, I'm a steak lover, and they have steak going all the time. The guy cooking that night was doing his best at serving up some mid rare goodness, and he delivered on the temperature. It was just a shame that at least half the pieces I tried had a remarkable amount of fat, and several just had too much gristle to eat. Fortunately, it is a buffet, so I just got another piece. The rest of the food was predictable and decent (fried chicken, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese). Everything was mostly fresh. I don't see what the huge love is for their pot roast (they had some sign up praising it). It was bland, and although it fell apart and was quite tender, just lacked any flavor other than what I would consider meat mush. Dessert, now that was a neat upgrade. They have a cotton candy machine now, and make it when you ask. I love cotton candy, so for me, one of these stars goes to something I can't get in most other restaurants. Overall, if you are quite hungry, and don't expect a world class buffet (like Vegas), then this is acceptable every now and then. An added bonus is that the service here seems to be quite good, even if they don't have much to do for you other than fill drinks.

For basic food, it was not bad. Very crowded on Sunday with people going after church, but overall food fresh and they kept a constant flow of bringing items out.

The GC! Ah the Golden Corral experience...for those who don't know or aren't aware of what a low budget good old American buffet is then you aren't missing much! GC is your typical run of the mill American cuisine buffet place that emphasizes on massive quantities of food and not exactly on being the greatest tasting. I will admit that on some dishes it's nice to be able to have large amounts of food on the cheap. Dishes range from tex-mex to southern cuisines. I always will have a soft spot for some mashed potatoes, macaroni n cheese, fried chicken, topped off with a batch of some fried okra. Throw in some bourbon chicken and you got yourself a hay day of hodge podge of foods to peace even the most voracious of stomachs. Service is decent as all they really do is clean up the plates and refill your drinks. Everything else you go and grab...thus the buffet concept. I wouldn't necessarily place the food here ranked high but for some reason I find myself every once in awhile looking forward to some good old blah flavored American cuisines. Maybe I'm just a glutton for punishment...

Not a good place to spend your hard earned money. This particular one is especially dirty and it is easily seen by just looking around. The food is very bland and not prepared at all with care. The servers can be very rude but I'm sure if I had to work in a place like that I would be too. The plates were dirty and they ran out of silverware both times I visited. Golden Corral isn't at all a good chain to start with but it is edible. I'm thinking it is this particular one.

Sometimes you make dirty mistakes when you are hungry. I feel like everyone has been to Golden Corral at least once and that crazy day was probably a few years ago. I am ashamed to say that I was here within the last few days. It's because they have huge, buttery dinner rolls. That's how they get us in there. But wow, after this trip we will not be going back again. They've added a chocolate fountain. This just makes the grossness factor of Golden Corral go even higher. Kids were dropping marshmallows and pieces of brownie down into the chocolate. They were sticking their soft-serve ice cream cones into the fountain too. That is not what the fountain is for... and who knows what else was in that rotating goo. Not to mention there were piles of chocolate and gummy bears all over the floor that people were stepping on. Also from where I was sitting next to the bakery area I could see all of the pieces of random food lumps on the floor where the food was being prepared. I understand there is a high turnover rate in there, but I think cleaning the floor now and then would be a good idea. The food is bland and you just feel gross by the time you finish the few things you manage to choose.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Food was absolutely disgusting, the place wasn't clean, floor was sticky. Don't feel like saying anymore about this place.. Just make sure every time you go to a buffet like this, walk around first before you pay and sit down.

  • Rob S.

They just remodeled and the food is the same, except they have just upgraded the quality of the steak which makes it worth the price. I go for a large salad with the freshly cooked steak.

If silence is golden, call me fools gold. Golden Corral is anything but golden, although I do understand why they call it a corral. The food wasn't too bad for a buffet, but I have certainly had better. The service is pretty good, but this is where the compliments stop. A group of us met there last week; we were squeezed into a small room making it difficult to get in and out of your chair, unless you sat at the end of a table. As we ate the person next to me had a bug (you can imagine what kind) crawling on her. The only thing the keeps me from giving this one star, is the fact that we had a good waiter.

    (2)
  • JoAnne S.

UGH!! Dirty, unorganized, rude staff, and cold food. I'd rather be covered in jam and placed in a gigantic fire ant hill than eat at this place again. Literally paid for the services and ended up walking out hungry.

I was appalled by the lack of customer service from the management and the lack of cleanliness of dishes. When I discovered that we were charged $2 for each drink I complained to a manager. She said there was nothing she could do and got a different manager. That manager also said there was nothing to be done. At the time I was standing there with my tray full of drinks and silverware. The manager could have offered to refund the drinks and given us water instead. If we'd known the cost of the drinks we would have ordered water anyway, but I double-checked the menu before leaving and there was nothing listed about the cost of the drinks. Also, most of the dishes felt like they had food left on them. It wasn't visible, but you could certainly feel it. I had to go through several dishes each time I went to the bar before I found one that seemed relatively clean. The waitress was great but that lack of customer service from management and the lack of dishwashing ability from your staff has made me decide never to return to that Golden Corral. I will also be putting a similar review on Yelp and Google.

Dec 1, 2009 I came only to redeem my free lunch buffet coupon. It was posted to me for renting the PPV of Superman Returns at $4. There were 3 people on the left cashier. It was taking a very long time. I did not know if I was supposed to get a tray, and where it was. 3 people behind me picked up trays, and went to the right cashier. I picked up a tray, and a man asked me what beverage I wanted. I asked if it is an extra cost. He said ''a little more''. I said regular water. The 3 people after me were helped, and I finally got to the cashier. This transaction took about another 5 minutes! He said $8. I gave him my large post card. He said $1.07. I said it is water. He got the manager over. Then he said I have a choice of a Senior Buffet or Regular Buffet. I asked him what was this senior thing. He asked if I was a senior. I guessed that I was not. He said to forget everything he said. He said it was $1.07 because it was Saturday. I said the card did not say that it is $1 more on Saturday. He said that is how it is done, and people pay it. I asked for the Manager. She said that she is from Georgia, and does not know about these things. She said that this is how it is done. I said the card did not say that it is $1 more on Saturday. She said that her register would not let her do two discounts. I told her that is not my problem. She looked angry, told the cashier he would be short $1.07, and walked away. He waved me away. Then I asked him if I was supposed to get a plate, and he gave me one. I asked for others, and he said that more would be brought to my table.

Literally one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. We went on a late Sunday afternoon, thinking the church crowd would be gone. Little did we know, they weren't. "Corral" couldn't be a more apropos word to describe this hellhole. I was extremely hungry and I don't mind buffet food, it is what it is...but the clientele and organization made this place horrible. One arrogant woman decided that she wanted her whole party of 10 to sit together, so she got the staff to move tables...blocking us (and other tables) into the corner. Why the staff decided to entertain her idiotic desire, I do not know. We literally had to squeeze out between chairs of one gigantic party which appeared to be restaurant-wide. Not to mention the walkways near the food itself were 3 people abreast. And excessively rude people at that. When you have what appears to be six thousand people crammed into a 4 foot wide walkway, you DON'T stop to have a conversation with people passing the other way. You also don't lean quite literally on someone's shoulder while they're getting their food, reaching over them in the process. And also, if for some reason your fat ass wants the entire buffet tray of beef stew, just go directly to the kitchen and ask them for your own personal bucket so you don't hold up a line for 10 minutes filling up your trough of a plate. I've never seen such rudeness. We walked out and left because we couldn't stand it anymore (squeezing through the labyrinth of rude nitwits in the process). It turned out to be the most expensive plate of salad and slice of buffet pizza I've ever had, but I would have paid an additional 10 bucks just to get out of this "restaurant". The best advice I could give for potential patrons of this restaurant: Just go to Backyard Burger right across the street.

It is what it is, an inexpensive buffet. The food was generally good and our waitress was very attentive and nice. No, not every food was 5 star, but I didn't expect that. So I can't believe how critical so many of the generic Golden Corral reviews are for other locations and on sites other than Yelp. Salad bar was great. I also had mashed potatoes, gravy, Talapia, boiled cabbage, chocolate pudding, bead pudding and iced tea. The only thing I did not like was the bread pudding, but I come from a long line of bread pudding expert cooks. The variety of food is incredible, so everyone in our group of 7 found their favorite foods easily. We also had a 7 year old who won't eat hardly anything and she pigged out on fruit and tacos. So even finicky kids will enjoy.

Good luck.

Quality of food is low, staff is courteous, waitstaff attentive. Be aware that prices jump on weekends.

They just remodeled and the food is the same, except they have just upgraded the quality of the steak which makes it worth the price. I go for a large salad with the freshly cooked steak.

Food was bad! Everything was pretty cold, was sitting there for a while, nothing tasted fresh. My entire family got food positioning a few hours later.
